Welcome to Lowergrove Hereford's.
We are a small herd of pedigree Hereford cattle, registered with The Hereford Cattle Society, situated in the Buckinghamshire countryside.
The Herd was established in September 2006 with the purchase of two females from Bob and Margaret Borwick's Mara Herd reduction sale.
At the A.G. Wrights dispersal sale in 2012 we purchased Badlingham Bonny 105 to add a new female line and this year have added another prolific family; The Pansy's with the purchase of Mara Pansy 29th.
These females from the Diadem, Bonny, Pansy and Blossom families now form the basis of our female lines, they have great depth to their pedigrees, with many successful bulls interspersed throughout their genetics.
We concentrate our breeding policy on the female lines, by aiming to produce cattle that are fertile, milky, produce a calf every year and that put on flesh from grass or grass related products.
All the cattle are handled all year round which compliments to the ease of management of their already docile nature.
Selection of breeding bulls is made with reference to their dam lines, to ensure that we continue the qualities that we believe is essential, to produce progeny that are economic for quality beef production.
Performance recording of the stock is under way through the Hereford Cattle Society's Pedigree System to establish EBV's.
We are also a Member of Hi Herd Healthcare with the herd routinely being checked with Biobest.
